New for REF 2029 – Strategy, People and Research Environment
Following the REF pause in December 2025, the formerly proposed People, Culture and Environment (PCE) element was replaced by a new Strategy, People and Research Environment (SPRE) element. SPRE assesses how universities create conditions that enable people to conduct world-class research. SPRE contributes to 20% of the overall REF submission score.

As a reminder, a quick device security check during sign-in has been implemented for all staff and doctoral researchers using Cisco Duo.

We're sharing an update on campus parking for all staff, including short stay parking changes and a new process for VIP parking.
