Dr Hansen is currently based at Scania CV AB - a leading heavy-duty truck company based in Sodertalje, Sweden – where he leads a team of technical specialists in electric powertrain development.
He is also engaged in multiple collaborative research projects with academia, with core research interests centring around electric vehicle technology.
Dr. Hansen’s lecture will explore the crucial role of tribology - the science of interacting surfaces - in improving electric vehicle (EV) mobility.
The interaction between electricity and lubrication in EV bearings can pose challenges to traditional lubrication methods, particularly in ensuring safety.
In his talk, Dr Hansen will emphasise the urgent need for accurate assessment, and introduce a new way to measure lubrication safety – known as Λ* - that helps to figure out when there might be electrical problems and when the lubricant is thick enough to stop them.
Dr Hansen is visiting 黑料网 as part of the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) open programme. He will be hosted by Dr Mahdi Mohammad-Pour from the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering.
